YOUR FIRST VISIT

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, treatment can be done the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your referral slip and any X-rays if applicable.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e antibiotics, for pre-med.)
Our Treatments
A good dental care means regularly brushing and flossing your teeth, going for frequent dental check-ups, and consuming a healthy diet.

OUR DIGITAL EQUIPMENTS
DIGITAL X-Rays
Offering superior resolution with less radiation exposure, the digital radiograph x-ray at “Smyle Kraft” is an excellent new way to help diagnose possible oral problems. The digital radiograph not only emits half the amount of radiation associated with traditional x-rays, but is also much less time consuming. Using a sensor that is placed in your mouth in the correct position, the pictures are taken and immediately sent to our computer. We can then review the information with you right from the computer screen.
Benefits of Digital X-Rays
- Exposes the patient to half the amount of radiation received from traditional x-rays
- Allows for a more detailed, accurate analysis
- Immediately transfers images to monitor so that the dentist can review and explain the information to the patient
- Images can be enlarged and saved for future reference
- Offers the ability to compare your x-rays with one another digitally on our computer
- Less time spent developing x-rays means more time to take care of your dental needs
Why are Digital X-rays Important/p>
- To locate areas of decay that can’t be detected with a visual examination
- To detect periodontal disease by investigating possible bone loss
- To aid in the preparation and placement of dental implants, orthodontics and other dental work
- To locate possible abnormalities such as cysts and oral cancer

The Intraoral Camera at “Smyle Kraft”
X-rays are an excellent way to diagnose oral health issues; however with theintraoral camera available at “Smyle Kraft”, we can assess your dental needs to a n even greater extent. Using the intraoral camera, we can examine areas of your mouth that x-rays cannot show.
What is an Intraoral Camera?
The intraoral camera is small, roughly the size of a standard dental mirror, and features a built-in light source. With this small camera, we can easily identify problems such as tooth decay, cracked or broken fillings, cracked teeth and signs of gum disease among others to help us create an effective treatment plan.
Take a Tour of Your Mouth
“Smyle Kraft” also uses the intraoral camera in conjunction with a computer monitor, allowing you to view what’s going on inside your mouth as we examine.
By directly observing the examination, you can now be an active partner in your treatment. Clearly seeing your oral condition will help you make confident treatment decisions.
